I am so pleased to be able to report back to all our Christian brothers and sisters, our supporters and our dedicated donors regarding my recent Asia Pacific Meeting of country directors in Fiji. Under the chairmanship of our Regional Director Asia-Pacific, Manasa Kolivuso, the three-day meeting was indeed spiritually uplifting, not to mention the wonderful fellowship with my colleagues from Guam, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Samoa, New Guinea, Micronesia and including our Continental Director Allan Lit (Singapore) and our international Ambassador Jacob Engle (USA).
Over the three-day period, the meeting discussed how best we can further the Gospel in the Asia Pacific region so as to achieve our OIKOS objective of reaching everyhome, everywhere and every generation with the Good News.
The theme for our meeting was 2C3E – Carry Christ (to) Everyhome, Everywhere, Every Generation.
The 2C3E initiative is the fundamental foundation of the OIKOS goal which has an end date 2038. Oikos is a Greek word that means a house, a dwelling, or a household and was initiated in 2019 by Every Home for Christ International (EHCI).
This concept of oikos is found throughout the Bible: • Luke 19:9 Zacchaeus was told salvation was on his household. • John 4:53 The centurion’s entire household was saved following the healing of his son. • Acts 18:8 Luke describes how Crispus, leader of the synagogue at Corinth, believed in the Lord with all his household. • Luke 15 In the three parables about a lost coin, a lost sheep and a lost son, all tell of the rejoicing when the lost was found. In all three cases they told their friends and family.
The message of hope was passed on through the oikos. The value of meeting my fellow national directors was that we were able to share our OIKOS projects, our discipleship programs and share our resources. In particular, it was so encouraging to hear real life stories from Papua and New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Samoa on the challenges of spreading the Gospel to every home.
